Abana

Common Use

Abana is a herbal product made by Himalaya — so it comes from plants, not chemicals. It’s used to help support your heart and keep your blood flowing the way it should. In Cyprus, where we like our souvla and late nights, it’s often used to help maintain cardiovascular function (that’s a fancy way of saying it looks after your heart and blood vessels).

Direction

Normally, you’d take 2 to 3 tablets, twice a day, with warm water — the way yiayia would tell you. But everyone’s different, so have a word with your doctor to get the dose that’s right for you.

Precautions

If you have high blood pressure (what we call high piési in Cyprus), take it easy and check with your doctor before using Abana. Better safe than sorry.

Contraindications

So far, no one’s found a reason why you shouldn’t take it — no major red flags.

Possible side effects

Abana isn’t known to cause any side effects. It’s generally well tolerated, even by people who are careful about what they put in their bodies.

Drug interaction

If you’re already taking other supplements or herbal bits and bobs and you’re not sure if they mix well with Abana, ask your doctor or pharmacist. It’s always best to have someone in the know take a look.

Missed dose

If you’re taking it regularly and you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But don’t double up — no taking two doses to catch up.

Overdose

If you think you’ve taken too much, don’t wait around — call your doctor or head to the nearest emergency room.

Storage

Keep it at room temperature, away from damp spots and sunlight. Make sure the lid’s on tight and it’s out of reach of little hands.
