Profile Description

Dr. Argyris Argyriou studies medicine at the University of Vienna whereby he specialized in the field of Paediatrics. He furthered his specialty training at St Anna Children’s Hospital in Vienna in the Department of Medical and Infectious Diseases and at the University Clinic of Vienna in the Department of Paediatric Cardiology and the Department of Neonatal and Congenital Abnormalities with Neonatal ICU.

Upon his return to Cyprus in 1999 he began his medical career in his own private practice in Limassol. Dr. Argyriou has since been a member of the Governing Committee of the Pancyprian Paediatric Society and the Pancyprian Society of Perinatal Medicine. He currently holds posts as a committee member of the Speech, Language and Hearing Program at the European University of Cyprus and of Theotokos Foundation, an institution founded by his father for caring and housing people with severe mental disabilities.

Since 2006, Dr. Argyriou has been the chairman of the Center for Preventive Paediatrics, a not for profit organization implementing ethnic prenatal and neonatal (screening for metabolic disorders and hearing loss) screening programs for both private and governmental sectors.
